Default Newbie - Electric Fan Question

Could someone please help me, I'm looking at the idea / thought of getting rid of my mechcanical cooling fan and have some questions.
The car is my DD and is a Grand Cherokee Ovis 1998, stright 6 with a 4 liter.

1) Dose my jeep have a mechanical and electrical fan fitted as standard or dose it just rely on the mechanical fan.

2) If it is fitted with a Electric fan, can I remove the mechcanical fan and replace the electrical fan with a larger fan and using the existing trigger to turn the fan off and on?

3) If I remove my existing mechanical fan will I be left with a long shaft which I will need to cut down?

4) How easy is it to remove the remaining pully and reroute the sepertine belt?(has any one got a diagram of the new route for the belt).

Is there anything else I should be aware off?

Thanks in advance.

A Ford Taurus fan is suposed to be the hot setup. I'm thinking of doing this mod as well.
