Hello there...I'm new to the forum and need help with potential purchase. Wanting to hit the trails again.years ago I had a 1964 jeep p/u with chevy 327....
I'm looking to buy a 1997 grand. 5.2L with 120,000 / transmission rebuilt 800 miles ago. While current owner was driving, it went into neutral and will not go into drive. When the t-case is cycled it sounds like the gears are grinding.
Any diagnostic input would be appreciated.
Any thoughts.....pros/Cons on the 5.2L and the quadra trac would also help.

Updated info.
1) transmission shifts thru all gear
2) t-case grinds gear when moved
3) confirmed it is AWD

?? Is it possible to replace t- case with 2wd & 4wd option.
?? What all needs to be changed ( computer, sensors??)
