Default Newbe looking for the best...

hey folks how ya'll doing? my pops is looking for a jeep and it is mainly gonna be used in the sand and will be towed behind a motorhome. My question to you guys is what is his best option? He's looking to spend no more than $10,000 on the whole project but ya'll know how projects go...lol. Here's a major kicker... he's medically retired due to a broken back and can't afford to be bounced around so we need something extremly smooth but still able to go all over the dunes and up the big hills.

Any ideas?

If you want to do a good bit of work to it, look for a 93-98 grand cherokee

If you want to do very little work and just buy-n-drive get an '05+ GC since they ride like clouds.

'99-'04 for the middle-ground there. My '02 feels very up-to-date, drives nothing like a truck, and after a we bit of lift is pretty nice off the road too. The more upscale editions have crazy amenities like rain sensing wipers

If you're looking for comfort you're pretty much not looking for a cherokee/wrangler. Best to shoot for a grand cherokee

Not really sure on how smooth extremely smooth is, buy I rode in an '08 gc and it was like floating around on a cloud.

Not really sure why you mentioned prerunner suspension.

But as far as replacing coils/shocks go for OME, top notch ride quality

thats what i'm going for with my Nissan Titan so the rides better... lifting usually just makes everything stiff and i want to not feel any of the whoops in the dunes.

Don't get a Cherokee if you want comfort. The rear leafs will not be nice for him. Get a Grand Cherokee. They are coil all around.

You want awesome ride quality go for Bilstein shocks. IMO nothing compares to them!
