First time Jeep owner. Just picked up a 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo Limited. It's gold with just a few little places on the body and a few inside, but all in all, not a bad deal. The only problem is that when I went to buy it yesterday, met the guy, bought it, and then it wouldn't start. Did some research while waiting on the guy I bought it from to come back and think it's the CPS. He owns a small lot so he didn't just leave me stranded. Came back, and took it across the street to a Toyota dealership (he knows the service manager), went to O'reilly's, bought the part, and is paying to have it replaced. Going to pick it up tomorrow and hoping for the best. Will definitely be digging around here for info in my quest to get her lifted and running like a champ. Hope I don't get too annoying with my questions lol.

Just ask intelligent questions and be clear what the problem is and we won't be annoyed. HOWEVER, if the questions are about tires and lifts, do a search of posts before you ask. There are SO MANY posts about these 2 things, it gets tedious answering them.

Thats kinda weird, have a buddy that just picked up a GC, sometimes it just wont start, we've done the CPS, and a couple other censors still haven't figured out the issue, itll drive fine for a couple days then one day he'll be driving and it dies, wont start for almost an hour exactly each time. Hope you have good luck with yours.

Is it the V8? Have any modifications planned?

And of course, Welcome to the forum!

That sounds like what mine's doing except sometimes it only takes a few minutes to re-start. Yes it's the V8 and as of right now I plan on rhino lining the kick panels and bumpers, adding probably a 4 in lift, and 33's but that's going to probably have to wait until spring. Also in the future will be a front winch bumper and possible a rear bumper with a spare tire carrier. That's about it for now. But first have to keep it running lol

You are going to have trouble with the bumpers on the WJ. There's nothing there to attach them to. The bumpers are just fascias, plastic with foam backing and sheet metal behind them. In the back, the best you can hope for is a trailer hitch. They are not at all like the ZJs are. I was looking for a brush guard for mine and the best stuck out like the bow rail on a ship! I didn't like it at all. I guess Jeep decided they'd sell more if it was more of a street car than a trail rig. I cringe when I thing about running into something! I backed into a concrete light pole base, just touched it, and put a crease in the bumper.

I was looking at bushwacker fender flares and they have one on there pictures that I really like. Just have to figure out what kind it is and how in can be mounted. If nothing else, we have a 4x4 shop here that can fabricate them and I'm sure can find a way to mount them.
