Question New 456 Gears a little noisy?????

Well I had new 456 gears put in my WJ a little while back and the place told me the rearend would make a little noise due to the rearend was alluminum they said they called the manufacturer "Yukon" and they told them they could make a little noise and that they are made for strength not made perfect to reduce noise. Its not to bad just a little wineing noise. Anyways I was just wondering if this is right. Thanks for any input. I just have no idea if they are really telling me the truth or not mostly everything i read about people getting new gear everyone says they should not make any noise. Thanks again

If they are wining they aren't set up right. If you have good quality gears set up correctly they will be quiet. Not familiar with the Rubicon brand but I've used Yukon, Superior and a few others in drag cars and if they are right you won't hear them. If they are wining and you run them for long they will wear a knife edge on the ring gear and no matter how well they are set up you will get a noise.

Yeah I was going to say I would contact Yukon and tell them what vehicle it is, so that way they can tell you for sure if it should or not... but I am pretty sure they are not supposed too... even in the Aluminum rear.... And if they say that it isn't... I would print out that email and take it back to the shop you had do the install and tell them to fix the issue.. You might also want to talk to Yukon and see if the shop you went too is an authorized shop with them or not...

Well I have not gottin an e-mail back from them yet but i did call there Sales department which is weird because there sales dept and customer service is threw Randys Ring and Pinion. Anyways i talked to one of the reps there and he told me that they could produce some noise and as long as its constant noise then I shouldnt be worried. He said if it was only makeing the noise on accleration or deceleration then to be worried but since it is all the time then it shouldnt be a problem. I guess im gonna have to live with the facts J/K its really not that bad it was just worring me because I dropped around $1600 on getting it all done and didnt want to have someone lie to me and have somethin come up later. Anyways thanks to all who helped.
