Default Need help with Tie Rod setting?

I am changing the tie rod end on a 1994 Zj, the one that goes into the pit man arm. What is the correct measurement that it should be turned into. The old one I measured at 11 cm from the adjustment sleeve to the end of the tie rod. With that setting my steering wheel was tilted to the left. I have the gear box centered and would like to center the steering wheel as well. If I leave the tie rod 11 cm out my wheel is again tilted to the left. Can I just turn the tie rod in until it goes in with the steering wheel centered. I plan on having the alinement do tomorrow but want to get it as close as I can.

Basically what you want to have is a 1/8 inch toe in. What I am saying is that when you measure the tires (between both front tires), there should be a 1/8 inch difference when measuring in the front. What I do when measuring is start at the front of the front tires. I will go as far up the tire as possible while being able to stretch a tape measure from the passenger side to the driver side of the vehicle. Then do the same at the rear of the same tires. Say your measurement is 54 inches at the front of the tires then you want 54 1/8 at the rear.

This is only to get you close. You should follow up with a alignment soon after doing any work on the steering.

Thank you for the help. I am starting to fix this jeep up and steering and suspension work is something I have never done before.
