Ok so this is what I have figured out so far, sorry if things seem out of order.

Ok so I took a test light and hooked it to power and tested the grounds on the TCM plug, they work! Next hooked the light to the battery ground and tested the 3 powers in the TCM plug nothing! Next I took a jumper and jumped #30 to #87 on the relay plug, with jumper in place I tested the 3 ground and the 3 power on the TCM plug and what so ya know all 6 worked!

Ok next I chased all the wires for the relay and I used a multimeter to check continuity. Numbers 30,86,87 all run back to the TCM's plug, and have good continuity.85 is supposto be a ground BUT here's where I think my trouble is 85 is not grounded to anything. When I take my test light and I hook it to the positive side of my battery and touch 85 and I get nothing! I've dont test that people have told me to do for 30,86,87 and they all worked great... So since it supposto be just a ground I ran a wire and hooked it to a ground on the motor then ran it to #85 and no change.. So I'm thinking that this wire is a little bit more than a ground... It is a black wire with a yellow stripe, I chaced the and it get bundled in with a bunch of wires and goes into the firewall it's the bundle kinda in the middle of the fire wall kinda by the big squair air box thing on top of the motor.... WHERE DOES THIS BLACK/YELLOW WIRE GO TO?

Here's another question so I went and unplugged every plug on the passenger side of the engine bay I mean I had everything tore out of there even the thing bolted to the fire wall that has 3 plugs going into it, so I could clean and inspect all the plugs and put dielectric Grease on all the plugs.. Well now I have a ABS light and a red brake light on, on the dash any ideas? Is there a plug over there that has something to do with ABS?

All my manual tells me is the black/yellow wire goes straight to a ground, it also splices into the ground wire for the a/c clutch. The actual location of were it grounds simply lists the location as the RH side if engine, it also lists a location of the RH rear of engine but I think thats for the 4.0

You should have seen a result by patching in a ground. Where did you actually splce the wire in at? Are you sure the section of wire between the rely terminal and your splice are ok? Are ou sure the terminal at the relay connection is good and not spread out or something?

As for the brake/ABS lights you might just unplug and plug everything back in, you might have left something unplugged or not plugged in all the way.

Ya I think the 4.0 and the 4.7 are differant because its got that wire going into the cabin... Any one know where all the grounds are inside the cabin?

Your two 800 codes appear in the transmission section of the generic OBDII code list. It appears they are manufacturer specific so I can't tell you what they are. Your 613 code shows up in the vehicle speed sensing section.

Ok so I went and I cleared the codes the check engine light is gone and has not came back on! what i did was I ran a ground from the motor to the ground for the relay and now I got 1st gear and overdrive they work great butttttt now when the tranny shifts to 3rd gear it shifts real hard and makes one hell of a bang. Befor I ran the ground wire I didn't have any 1st or over drive but the shift from 2nd to 3rd was smooth.... I'm just lost.... Any ideas? What I was thinking was maby the new TCM I got was not programmed right... So I was wondering say someone put a differant tranny in and didn't get the TCM reprogrammed what would the tranny do without getting reprogrammed ?

If you are having trouble locating the ground and you know its an open circuit you could always overlay the ground circuit to the relay. I dont think it would be too hard to lift the fuse box and remove the bottom cover and find the black/yellow wire to the relay and splice in a new wire and run it to a good ground. I would suggest you peel the insulation back and solder a wire to the existing circuit without cutting it because I think this circuit is spliced to the a/c compressor too.
I know this is a super old thread but I thought I would tell where I found this ground wire as I had the same problem finding it. It attached to the drivers side motor mount.
