Default Need advice on making 31" M/Ts fit a 04 GC

I have a 04 wj and recently installed some 2" Spacers just so i could put my tires on ( 31" mts on a 15" 3.75BS Wheel) and sell my factory wheels and tires to have the money for the 4" RC kit. I was assured that the 31's would fit but the front tire grabs the front bumper when you turn making it impossible to drive and i had to actually pry the bumper off the tire when i turned it all the way. What im wondering is if i should just trim the bumper as im thinking even with the 4" kit i will have to do this anyways, and if so whats the best approach for doing so without butchering the bumper.

Heres a pic with the wheel staight.

And here with the just slightly turned.

You might try asking member "seed". https://www.cherokeeforum.com/members/seed-1602/
He might be better able to answer your question. Send him a PM.

You can make a nice little trim, slow steady hand. Make it nice and also you can make it look stock with a little trim with out butchering it.

^^ Was going to say the same thing.... it is only temp.... that way you don't have to worry about the bumper looking hacked... I am pretty sure you should be able to clear 31's with the 4" lift and stock bumpers....

there are three things that come to my mind-
1. take the bumper off
2. take a razor and trim the back end off
3. if you have the time and know how to "weld" plastic trim the bumper by removing a section, weld up the edge, and repaint to make it look factory (see Trucks "5 grand cherokee" with what they did with side trim)

Taking the bumper off is definatly an option as long as its just screws or bolts and not rivets so it can be reinstalled. Thanks for the info guys
