Need Advice!!
Just bought a Jeep ZJ with inline 6. Wondering if there was a chip i could put on for better gas milage and also would it be able to clear 31s if not would a body lift be a good idea and what would be the best. I want to make this thing out crawl my z71!

but whatever...
31s will require a 3" lift or better unless you wish to do fender trimming
body lifts are always better But with Unibody's that's not an option
use the search function and you will see alot of lift questions already been answered
as far as chips go, save your cash
you dont buy a Jeep for the sleek aerodynamic design & gas mileage

31's will prolly fit but you will lose alot of clearance. i personally dont like just body lifts but everyone has an opinion. id much rather throw a 3-4.5" suspension lift and possibly a body lift included. if you wanted to do it the easy way alot of my buddies are blocking and/or shackling the rear with pucks in the front. that would give you a little more height..

You can fit 31's on a 2" budget boost easily with no trimming at all and still have some room...im running that now on my zj...actually looking to go 32's and trim a little...my 2" BB cost me $120...but cheaper if you dont get shocks...which mine needed so i got them anyway...so without shocks it would run you about $50.

Ok xjs and zjs have unibodies so there is no such thing as a body lift for them, only suspension. 2, he says he has a zj and they do not have leaf springs in the back so no shackles, coils in the front and back. So to reiterate, he is suggesting that you could get a cheap 2" lift off of 2" spacers, which should allow you to clear 31" tires, for the most part.

i read it & mentioned in my post that we have unibodys...
only other thing i would suggest to get the lift instead of spacers is to get new (to you) coils from the JY.
some thunderbird coils would net you about 3" or so and would cost ya about $50+/-, well maybe $100 for 4...
depending on where ya go get em from
With the 3" you wouldnt have to worry about rubbing on 31s and only other thing you would want to do for piece of mind is extend your brake lines
