motor swap question
I have an 01 wj 4.0l I had the head rebuilt, and just picked up a bottom end (98). I was told any high out put motor from 91 up would work but had to use the 01's 3 coil head. I went to put the block in and the 01's motor mounts don't match up on the block. Would something as simple as using 98 grand Cherokee mounts work or would I have to do any other fabrication? Thanks for the input, new to jeeps.

i believe cherokees and grand cherokees had different motor mounts. (ex. cherokee block wont fit grand and vice versa). someone correct me if im wrong
The mounts on the block are different. 98 Cherokee mounts will mount to the block. What I'm curious is will the match up to the other half that's welded to the frame, or will I need to cut them and move them or any other fab work. I need to get this done asap. This is the only "family" vehicle we have.
