Default Metal on Metal sound when braking

Hi All, new to the forum hoping for some suggestions as I am alittle frustrated.

Issue - Metal on Metal sound when braking under normal conditions and speeds. If you are going slow and gently apply brakes you can avoid the sound. I have heard the sound when going over a bump without brakes applied a few times. Sound seems to be coming from the middle of the vehicle not one side of the vehicle, seems like it's dead center.

Work done so far by local shop

- Tie rods, ball joints
- New front brakes and rotors

Still a metal on metal sound after front brakes replaced.

I know thats not very much info but any suggestions on what else it might be would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Did you try brake grease? Could be the bearing/hub

You're most likely hearing and feeling the ABS motor. Does it do this every time you hit the brakes soft or hard?

can it be exhaust hook? tie rods cause faint knocking sound under car when traveling on small pits or bumps , usually coming in front.

also if its 4wd check the front drive shaft for nice clean metal. I installed a bolt one time that was about 1/2 too long and had about the same thing happening looked under there and sure enough that was the problem.

or it could be the inner rear bad. Rear brakes are often over looked, especially when the inner pad is metal on metal and the outer pad it half life still.

+1
Had the same issue when I was gone playing army, wife took my JEEP to Brakes Plus and it sounded worse than before. Told her I will do the brakes myself from now on.
