Hi,
Getting ready to sell my son's '96 ZJ with a V8, and I took the front drive shaft to shop to have the u-joints done. I got it back, with a tag to lube the splines and u-joints before using. I see the grease fittings on the u-joints, but the splines are dry, and I thought the movement was in the front CV joint.
So, do I un do the nut and separate the two shafts and pump grease down to the front CV joint, and lube the splines?
I could not find anything fro the search, but want to make sure I am lubing the shaft correctly.
Any advice would be appreciated.....
Thanks
Bob

There's no grease fitting on the slip joint? If not, you can slide the shaft apart and put some grease on the splines. Be sure to slide it back on correctly to keep the shaft in phase. It's a good idea to mark both parts before pulling it apart and line them up whe assembling.
