Default Lots of smoke!

Took my 93 ZJ on the first trip on the freeway. Ran 30 miles or so at 70 mph and everything ok. Then I started up a long grade and still all was ok until the transmission shifted down and back up real quick. I got a big blue smoke screen behind me for a 1/2 mile or so until I could get off the freeway.

Checked all fluids and still had good oil pressure and temp so I turned around and drove home at 70 mph. Runs great, transmission shifts right and no more smoke.

All I can find is the joint in the transmission dip stick tube is loose. Do you think oil could have puked out of there and is there suppose to be an o ring or something in that joint?

I used a piece of 2x2 wood with a hammer and beat on the top piece which drove it into the bottom piece and seems to be tight. A trip over the pass will tell for sure.

Hammer is the only English language word my jeep understands. Of the non profane English words that is. It will be spittin and sputtering and backfiring and belching smoke and I tell my wife real loud so it can hear, Get My Big Hammer. and she starts to purring like a kitten. LOL

May have changed a wee little bit but looked the same on the dip stick.
