Default Loss of brakes help

So just so you guys know im a total NEWB mechanic, but decent with my hands and not an idiot just never do it. So with the snow here in NJ I was sliding a little and had to press the brakes a little, after I started again I notice it braked slightly then the pedal basically dropped to the floor, It still would brake a little but not much. Now I cant really do much about it today with this weather and not having a garage, but just wanted some tips where do I start, what do I look for? Im thinking I could have poped a brake line? Any advice guidance would be very appreciated, thanks guys

You could indeed have popped a line, or wheel cylinder, or a seal in the master cylinder. I'd guess line or WC (if rear drum brake equipped). Look for a wet, oily spot on the line somewhere, or running down the inside of one of your wheels. JMO
