You need to back to "cherokeeforum.com", then find the Grand Cherokee section.

Hi Heather. It sounds like you need a new ignition switch for one. Actually that may be the entire problem with the jeep! Not the key tumbler, but the switch itself. The fuel gauge wire might have been broken during the pump change. In my opinion, you probably didn't need a new pump anyway. I really hate when a mechanic takes advantage of a woman! Give us your location and maybe one of our members can direct you to a trustworthy mechanic in your area.

We are like a close knit family here and are willing to help anytime. At least most of the veterans are! Just keep in mind this is an "opinion" site and the answers are not always right, but will help locate the problem. Myself, I will tell you when I don't know the answer, but will offer things to check to hopefully find it.
