Looking for a 2000 Grand Cheroke WJ Body Control Module
I have been having intermittent issues with the car alarm going of at random times.
Car has been in and out of the local dealership and they have now said it's a faulty Body Control Module.
They've also told me that they can't get a replacment one and the only place that they have found which can repair it is in the USA. I am based in the Netherlands.
Looking on advice an tips at this stage.
Is it really impossible to get a replacement part? And if not where can I get one?
Thanks.
E.

I'd try and re-solder the conectors on the BCM before you go chasing another one.
Found a vid on how to remove it.
Not difficult, but just take your time.
Allow yourself an hour to take it out the first time.
Once you have it out, lightly scrub the areas marked to remove the coating ( a soft scrubbing brush is good as you don't want to scrape off any of the components), then re-solder the connectors (marked in red)
Also replace the electrolytic capacitor (position is circled in red), as these fail over time.
I used a standard capacitor with a larger value (Low ESR 680uF 50v 108º) making sure it was well attached to the board so it won't vibrate loose.
This is the old surface mount capacitor. You can see it had been hot as the top is slightly bulged and the plastic outer has shrunk.
Just doing those 2 things fixed all the issues I was having with it.
Cheers.
