Default Long arm and short arm Suspensions?

I have a simple question whats the difference between a long arm and short arm is it just types of terrains that one is better than the other or is it something else?

not so simple answer...LA's are really only for when you get above 3" or so adj. short arms can be used up to there if needed. In a nutshell,LA's will make your jeep perform, feel, drive, flex, etc, etc, 100 times better on and offroad. Theres different link setups when it comes to LA's depending on manufacturer and weld on or bolt on kits etc. Picture your CA's from the side...as the jeep gets lifted the arms become more and more on a steeper angle..bad..LA's mount back farther so they level back out..better
