Default Lights flashing

I have a 2008 Grand Cherokee. Twice tonight the dome lights above the rear view mirror turned on, stayed on for about 3 seconds and the chimes sounded (like when the key is still in the ignition when you open the door).

Has anybody experienced that? Any input?

Sounds like a door sensor issue..

Sometimes this happens when you haven't closed the hatch firmly enough for the latch/latches to lock. My '00 WJ has a latch on each side of the hatch and one failed enough so going over a bump bounced the hatch enough to set off the lights and chime. On '99 and later WJs, the switches are in the latches instead of the door jambs.
