With the bb to give lift of 2-2.5" you don't need to upgrade shocks correct ? Nd can I fit a 30" tire on my stock rims ? Also what's a good bb lift . I've looked at the iro lifts and really don't want to put that money into this jeep .. id rather wait till I get another one nd just bb this jeep for now thanks guys

Most BB kits come with new shocks. If its mainly a street driven vehicle you don't need new shocks but if you still have the factory shocks on it I would look into replacing them anyways.

This is the BB kit I have.

Having owned many vehicles with 33"+ tires there will come a point when the harsh ride and bad mileage will take it's toll.
somone on here said that the 235s that are on it are somthing like 29.5" tall so would a 30 really be all that much different? and about doing the 1/2 ton spring swap with 2.5" spacers....is that a good/bad idea? and would that get me an overall decent lift up w/o much cost?

I believe 235's are actually closer to 28.5" depending on the tires actual size. You could do the BB with the spring swap. I'd imagine it would be pretty stiff though.

What vehicle are you thinking of taking the springs of off? Personally I wouldn't do it as the ride is going to be harsh. Now if your talking about using V8 ZJ springs on a I6 ZJ go for it. It will give you a little more lift in the end. Trick is to find a used set in nice condition as they have already been broken in.

now where u say it will give a little more lift in the end...do u mean more when compared to the 1/2 ton springs? and I guess I was thinking of a vehicle like a v-8 equipped expedition or somthing along those lines. if I find v-8 zj springs how much lift do u think I'm looking at with spacers added in, and will it compare with equal lift by putting the inline 6 springs in the back?

and I guess with all that being said, you also mentioned getting v-8 zj springs used so that they would be broken in.... used 1/2 tons that are in good shape but say from early 2000's (that way they should have had a good break in) would still be too stiff to keep a good ride?

No it won't equal the lift of a f-r. You might see about a 1/4" - 1/2" more lift with the V8 ZJ springs over the I6 springs.

From what I have read you have to cut the coils to fit our axle spring retainers properly. This in turn will make it have more spring rate and that will also give it a more harsher ride. A fellow member over at NAGCA took his front springs and put them on the rear with a spacer on top to achieve ~5" of lift and used the front springs from a 70s Ford and gained about 5.5" of lift in the front. He said it was a very stiff ride in the front. From what I remember he swapped them out with regular lift springs as soon as possible.

any suspension altercation will alter ride. I believe you would be better finding a package for your wants if you get done and one spring or the spacers don't seem right you'll be redoing and hit&missing also at that hieght driveshafts and control arms will have to be addressed and track bar

I used a 3" spacer on the front and front springs from a 6 cylinder GC for the rear. It rides fine but the rear is to tall so I plan on cutting a coil off them. The tires are 245/75/16.

You can get what are called ACOS. They allow you to adjust the height front or rear, depending on which ones you buy, for a more level looking stance.

find a kit . I.E. rough country makes one=new frt springs-your frt to rear kit includes shocks/cntrl arms. and use your budget spacer's if you want more// mines stiffer but not rough, of course I went fromstock/used O.E springs to new that's all the stiffness I would call it
