Default In Kind Of A Jam. Vacum hose behind headlight

I have read about how the vacuum hose behind the pass side headlight if broken is cause for cruse control failure. I decided to rake a look. I had to pull the Battery tray. I have found the broken hose, with a "T". I know one side of the hose goes, but another plastic hose is broken off the T. Where does it go?

The one side goes to this thing bolted to the inside fender. I don't where the T branches off to.

It took hours to get the tray out as the bolts holding it in was all corroded from battery acid.

Thanks

It connects with the vacuum reservoir "bomb" - at least it looked like a bomb to me the first time I saw one. It's up there behind the bumper but below the headlamp assembly. Get underneath that corner and move the plastic/rubber liner shield thing enough so you can see inside the space. See? It's not your clockspring.

NOTE: The tubing may be as brittle as the fittings. Be gentle or get more of it.

I had to put everything back. Need to head to work. Went back a lot faster than it took to take it apart. No I didn't see it. I found a long piece that runs parallel to the battery , coming from the back of the truck. Part is rubber, part plastic. The plastic was broken. Don't know where it goes. Then there is a round thing, right behind the headlight. It has rubber vacuum hose. I think that goes to the T. So i think I need to know where the other side of the T goes its plastic.

I couldn't see anything from under the car this time. I'll take another look. I don't know that I've ever seen a real bomb, is it square or round?

Okay, when I went to the junkyard to see if I could get a fan relay, there was a square box in front of the relay with a hose on it. THAT was the reservoir. My 97 ZJ had a round one under the battery.

My thought was instead of pulling apart the entire front end, why not install an older one?

Here's a pic of the fan relay access;

What happened to the diagram I saw earlier? I think it showed the reservoir next to the horn? I could see the horn when I looked under that plastic shield. Kind of above and to the right of the fog light?

It's probably same but that diagram appears to be for a XJ. The device in-question (in my '99 XJ) was cannonball shaped - that's why I referred to it as a "bomb". At this point, I'm still not sure where the device is mounted in my WJ.

It's not the same. I pulled back the liner and I have 2 horns . The diagram shows one horn and the reservoir. I still need to find the vacuum reservoir for a 2000 wj.

Thanks. I found this on E-Bay. I can't upload the picture. Here is the link. I don't see anything like this behind the headlight.

It does not look like such an easy task after-all...

Ya. Ah trying to get perspective from this drawing. I think this is what Dave 123 was saying in his post. So Iam trying to figure out how to get to it. Pull the bumper? This was the best help yet. Getting late here, gonna look again tomorrow. It's like a mystery spot. A hidden space. Can't quite place it.

I dunno, blue, the 2nd page put it into perspective a little better. It seems the reservoir is right there in front of the fan relay like Dave said. Is it under the headlight bucket? Looks like two screws and a tab hold it in-place. It doesn't look like the bumper needs to come off. That's a whole 'nother PITA that you don't want to do.
