So I bought a Jeep off craigslist for 1300 bucks. 94 grand Cherokee Limited with the V8. Seemed like a good deal. Drove ok mechanic gave the thumbs up and it is in pretty good shape body wise. Then the 249 t case showed its ugly side 4 hours after purchase lol, the alarm issue started the next day, and the power seats stopped working, and issue after issue since.I'm 99%sure the previous owners knew the issues and lied when I asked about any current issues or past issues. Now I have the delima of keeping it and trying to get it fixed or selling it and finding a not good looking but mechanically sound jeep. Normally the repairs wouldn't be an issue but some family issues have arrived that ate up repair funds. Winter is fast approaching here in the mountains.

It's a 22 year old vehicle, it's going to have some problems. Those things you mentioned are really pretty minor and fairly cheap to fix.

Wait....you bought a jeep on craigslist and expected the seller to tell you what was wrong with it? Get real please! Still, for the price it's not a bad deal if the body is sound. The t/case is the big one. Everything else you can probably live with or fix yourself. Worst comes to worst, take the front driveshaft out and put a pair of honking good snow tires on it for the winter, fix it in the spring.

How much did you pay him to check it out for you?
Most all the things wrong are easy fix's if the body is good and top and bottom are rust free that is the main things to get rid of one.

Yea turns out to have the t case swapped at a shop that does jeeps is only a few hundred and they said I could watch and learn. Only rust is on the front rockers so easy fix from the guy doing the sliders lol. Ima keep it now that the hard repairs I can't do my self are not too expensive. This was like a snickers commercial lol

I was once talking to a guy from Kansas and asked him how it ran on hills. He said he'd have to find a deep hole to find that out! He said the biggest hills are highway overpasses! IDK having never been to Kansas!

Take off from KC on I-35 W and its all up hill to CO. till you get to the Eisenhower Tunnel Dave. I drove that many times both ways over the yrs and the best fuel mileage is east bound for sure

Yea most of the Kansas wheeling is river runs or mud play. Kansas does have 2 pretty nice Orv parks tho. My wife wants to move back to ks but I'm not really on board with the idea lol
