Just got my zj need some help....
Hello, i just bought my 1997 jeep zj finnaly i paid 950 for it lol, it seems to be in good shape...i have read quite abit about it but before i put it on the road i want some more info....it has 230000 on it, its the v8, it runs strong but does have the stalling issue.....i plan to use hi test fuel and im going to replace a few simple things....fuel filter, oil change and filter, plugs n wires, and im going to run some seafoam through it.....im planning on putting it in the woods in the spring but thats a diff deal, is there anything else i should check or replace before i reg it so i dnt get stuck on one of these deep dark roads in vt???? any help would be apperciated thank you....

I'd check into getting a locker or limited slip in the rear axle, as yours is most likely an open differential which will probably leave you stuck.

"High Test" fuel will do nothing for you other than take more out of your wallet. Your stalling issue could be from a sticking idle air control motor located on the throttle body. Some say clean it, I say replace it and be done with it. The 5.2 V8 is a pretty bullet proof engine for the most part, you should a lot of miles out of it yet.
