Default Just bought a 99 jeep and it is driving me crazy, HELP

Just bought a 99 cherokee full time four wheel drive. I think it's posessed !! Drove it home, ran great. Left it sitting in the driveway running, came out and it had quit. Started right up and went for a drive. Stopped at the store and when I came out it wouldn't start. It will crank, but wont start. As it cools, it acts like a vapor lock. Each time it cranks, it will cough like it is trying to start as soon as you turn the key. If you let it sit and Engine temp never goes over 210, and no check engine light displayed. I thin it is the 4.7whatever v8 they used that year. Can anyone help?,

Is it a Cherokee or Grand Cherokee?? If it is a Cherokee it will be a 4.0 I6... and I would say you might have an issue with your Crank Position Sensor....

It sounds like heat soak.

It's where you'r plug wires get too hot.Insulate them with a sleeve or something and you should be all right.

My Saturn had a similar problem and it was a cooling sensor relay, basically it would start up just fine when it was cold but when it warmed up and I turned it off and tried to start it again it would be like hell. It ran fine but was afraid I'd kill the battery one day and get stranded at work.
