Hello,
My 1998 4litre petrol Grand Cherokee Auto occasionally sticks in 1st gear.... if I park it up overnight or for a couple of days it corrects itself. I’ve also found that if I continue to drive it will upon occasion just clear itself and change up through the gears normally then after a few days it might happen again. I have also found that if I disconnect the battery leads and touch them together briefly then upon reconnecting to the battery post this has cleared the problem also....for a while until it happens again .... usually when it raining or in the Snow !! Can anyone suggest a probable cause for the problem and hopefully a cure ? Thank you. Jock.
