Default Jeep grand cherokee infiniti amp help

I bought a 95 grand Cherokee with the Infiniti system in it the radio was missing when I bought I so I used the wiring harness from metra and hooked up it works great till you turn volume up past 20 then it cuts in out and if you go any higher the volume won't play at all I swapped radios and did the same thing and checked all my wiring twice I was wondering if the Infiniti amp under back seat was going bad or if anyone experienced this any help be great?

it sounds like your peaking out the amp- the infinity oem amps are not very loud for that year. i have the inifinity amp too on my 06 cherokee , and it also cuts off at about vol 31( only goes up to 35) it hits like a limiter. hope this helps ya out buddy

Voltages coming from the radio are too high and its kicking the amp into protect mode. What type of radio did you get and did you use the pre-amp outs to feed the harness going to the amp?
