Default 98 ZJ - Both Rear Power Locks Not Working

I've searched the forum but I'm having difficulty finding information on diagnosing faulty power door locks for the ZJ (everything is WJ).

The power locks work in the front but not the rear. On rare occasions, however, I think the power locks randomly work on one of the rear doors. I'm not sure if my rear door lock actuators are shorted, on their way out, or completely broken.

I got a deal on two used and tested actuators for the rear doors for $80. (Brand new ones seem to be ridiculously priced, like $100-$120 each!).

I wanted to attempt to replace these myself but I'm not sure what is involved. I'm hoping it's an interior panel, a couple of bolts and a plug and play swap. No clue what i'm getting myself into really but I'm $%#$ing sick and tired of telling people to reach behind the front seats and unlock their door.

Does anyone have a service manual or any resources for a step-by-step procedure on this? I can't even find anything on youtube.

I'm also not very experienced, so I'm not even sure if I have diagnosed this thing properly. Could it be a fuse? Or a simple adjustment? I can hear the actuator do something when I press the button up front, but it just doesn't unlock the door.

It's possible they just need lubrication.

I just changed my left rear latch/lock assembly. Pretty simple, just pay attention to the rods and take your time.
