What transfer case do i have i think it is the NP 242 but i can't tell by the ID tag It looks like model says 24R but i thought those were suppose to be all numbers
I can't really read the tag on it since the picture is a little blurry, but if it is in a Jeep cherokee xj, then it's easy to tell. Do you have 2wd 4 high, neutral and 4 low or do you have 2wd, 4 part time, 4 full time, neutral and 4 low? If you have full time 4wd then you have a 242. Also, depending on where you are I have one I was thinking of using for a project, but would be willing to get rid of.
It is 4.7 HO overland, 4wd all time, high and low and is the quad-drive. I was looking at some site to buy a used one abc it kept saying the quad drive was NP 247. But im located in Dallas Texas

So this is in a grand Cherokee not a Cherokee. I'm not sure what the grand Cherokee transfercase options were.
