Jeep Cherokee starts sometimes?
Hey i know this is my first post and a thread. i dont like doing this but i have a problem with my jeep. and we've replaced so much and it still is messed up that i have to get someone elses opinion.
so it starts sometimes. and runs perfect when it starts.
but other times it won't even turn over.
this is all we've replaced.
the computer, coil pack, ignition switch, crank sensor, neutral switch, fuse box, and ignition module.
does anyone have anyones ideas?

When you say "it won't even turn over", does it do anything?..Or when you turn the key does nothing at all happen?...If nothing happens then my guess would be the neutral starter safety switch.. This is on the transmission and is designed to keep the vehicle from starting in any gear except Park and Neutral (So next time it won`t start try starting it in neutral)..This switch also acts as the backup light switch so next time it happens put it in reverse and see if the backup lights come on..If they don`t it`s definitely the NSS

it says the neutral switch was replaced....what year jeep are we talking about here? you say coil pack so i'm assuming wj? and you say neutral switch so it would have to be the 42RE trans.
Not to state the obvious but have you thoroughly checked the battery connections?

Ah..Missed that in there...But still would like a more detailed description of what exactly happens on the times it won`t start..I know it says it won`t turn over but i`m curious if that means it just cranks or nothing at all happens

i agree a little more info would be helpful...it really seems lately that alot of noob posts are seriously lacking in the info/description on the problem their having.
