I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. My automatic window stopped working properly. I can roll down and up but after a few inches of rolling up it makes this terrible loud noise. I then have to pull up the window manually and then it starts working again. The motor sounds like it is still working but not sure if i need to buy a new motor or is the window just off track.

 

You need a new window regulator, www.rockauto.com has them.
