jeep alternator=blown computer
So my mechanic told me i had a bad alternator. he installed a new one and says the last one shorted out my computer by too low of voltage and said they are very expensive and the boss will call me in the morning with price. Is this possible?

I've heard of it before, but don't let him replace it for you. It will likely cost more than the jeep is worth. Get one from a junkyard that is the same year for like $75 and replace it yourself in a half hour.

Black. I can get the vim since that is also important right? Is it that easy to just drop in it do I need it flashed with my bin?

Also, I thought this was a Cherokee, not a Grand Cherokee. Those are completely different vehicles, so my statement about not needing the ECU reprogrammed may not apply.
