Intermittent metalic clink on startup?
This doesn't happen every time but over the past week, when I start the engine, I hear a metallic clink at the start, but it goes away....the engine runs like it has a misfire, but if I put it in reverse and go 10 feet back, then 10 feet forward, the engine smooths out and nothing else seems to happen for the rest of the day? What gives? Is it the starter beginning to fall apart? I hope its as simple as that.
I always keep this jeep in 2wd, and all the fluids are filled to spec, so I'm scratching my head again...love them jeeps.
