interior lights come on and stay on when i shut off jeep not dr switch because lights come on when i open dr with key on i have replaced hd light and dash light dimmer switch unit

 

I'd try putting the old switch back in and see if that makes a difference. Sounds like maybe a right wire on a wrong place on the new switch, too.

 

On my 1994 grand cherokee, had the same problem, i learned that somebody try to turn on the cargo light, the very back one, if you press the back cargo light to turn it on all the lights will come on and stay on till you press it again.
