Hi, When I start my Grand Cherokee 2000 the interior lights come on but
they don`t shut off until I turn the car off. What can I do to correct this
problem?
Thanks in advance,
Elaine

I just had the same problem with a Tahoe of mine.. had a short in the drivers door causing all the lights to stay on. Found the wire when replacing a bulb that was burned out.. has been an issue for a few months.. new bulb, tape on wire, good to go. but I've spend several hours trying to fine the issue during the last few months.

I've had this happen too. Wires in the driver's door boot tend to break from opening and closing the door so much. I fixed mine with crimping splice connectors. If the control panel goes on your driver's door - it's the same reason.

I had the same problem. I had a faulty drivers door light switch. This is located on the door jamb. I replaced it..... and no problems since.

Before you go tearing into wiring, I'd check the simple stuff. Dimmer switch for the dash lights has an 'on' position for the dome lights on my kids '02 GC. Also, check on the dome light itself. Hers has an 'always on, on with door and off positions'. Hope it's just something simple.
