Default I want to put a 360 in my Grand Cherokee, and reason not to?

I have a 94 Grand Cherokee with a 318 that needs heads. But I can pick up a 1990 360 fuel injected out of a ram charger for less than Im about to out into heads. Can anyone tell me any drawbacks to this plan? Thanks, David

drawbacks that i can see are computer issues from your old motor (wiring harness etc) and engine mounts. you would have to fab up some new mounts for that 350. also you may need a tranny adapter. what tranny do you have?

Thanks, but its a Chrysler 360, not a 350. Same motor mounts, bell housing, but I haven't looked at the wiring harness yet.

then your going to be a little bit better off then i thought, look into that wiring harness possible issue. i dont know much about that stuff so you will need to look into it.

you could just drop the fuel injection and go with a carb, itll be a lot easier

Thanks everyone. I'm putting the 318 intake manifold on there, so wiring wont be an issue, and I got a 360 torque converter, but any other insight would be appreciated. Otherwise I'll just come back on here when Im done and maybe give some pointers to anyone else looking to do this kind of swap. I'll try to post some pictures. Thanks

Will do! So far I'm out $400 for a running 360, and $100 for a torque converter.

the 5.2 magnum intake won't fit a 360 with non-Magnum heads for one.
There is an MP book from the dealer about the Magnum 5.2/5.9 that has a chapter about what you need to run a non-Magnum V8 in a Magnum application and vise-versa.
Cheap reading given the cost of the conversion.
check it out.
If you need a PN I can find mine and post it.

I put it in there, the only thing I ran into was the throttle position sensor, so I built a bracket to hold it in place, and it all works good. Im putting the intake manifold on tomorrow, so I guess I'll find out if what you say is true.
