Default Hunt for a new engine

So I got the new jeep down to my family's garage and by the time I got there it was making a horrible racket from the lower engine. Looks like the motor had a bad wrist-pin... sounds like I bought a vehicle the guy knew was going to crap out....

Ah well, at this point it is cheaper and more efficient to get a replacement motor. So if anyone has any idea I am open to suggestion. I'm looking for a replacement 5.2 V8 for a 95 ZJ.

Not sure where your at, but 5.2s should be easy to find and fairly cheap.

Perfect time for a Diesel swap out of a truck!!

But if you want something a little cheaper, there are tons of these engines at wreckers, and any good wrecker will give you some kind of warranty...

Good Luck!

Thanks everyone for the help. After roaming the internet in despair I stumbled across this site: http://car-part.com/index.htm

The search runs through a nationwide database of wreckers, salvage yards, restoration shops, etc. Then bring up price, mileage, and any other info on the item. The interface isn't great, but I found a motor in Utah with 70K miles on it for $700. Not too shabby, should be here tomorrow!
