How to restore nice look to an oxidized front bumper?
There's gotta be a best method to do this. My 2000 Laredo's bumper isn't black anymore...its grey. Whats the best way to restore its look? Paint? If so which would be best?
Oh yeah...the headlight covers are seriously oxidzed too. is there a compound to polish them up?
Thanks!

I had both these problems with my 2000. On the headlights, I went to long route and started with 1000 grit sandpaper, then 1500 grit. after doing this, I realized the plastic itself was crazed with tiny cracks and no amount of polishing would work. I bought new units. Chinese at $100 each.
The bumpers on my WJ are not black, but are "slate", whatever that means. I cleaned them up the best I could, then sprayed them with Krylon Fusion satin black paint for plastic. I'll see in the spring how good they lasted. If they are good, I'll do my side cladding as well.

I painted my bumpers and body cladding with Rust Oleum bed liner spray. It dries with a nice textured surface and is pretty forgiving about runs. I replaced my headlamps with a pair from www.rockauto.com for less than fifty bucks, but that is for a ZJ, a WJ may be more. Here is some before, after, and now pics.

Yes, A WJ is more. I bought mine from rockauto and they were $100 each and were Chinese. They DID come with a nice set of bulbs, though. AND I could adjust them!

The trim looks good but I've considered painting it black.
