Hello. I'm a newbie here to the site. Recently inherited my father in law's 1997 Grand Cherokee 5.2L. Serpentine belt snapped last night. All searches I find online on replacing are for 4.0. Anyone have link for replacing it on a 5.2L?

Thanks.

Get a Haynes Manuel. They are great for DIY.

There is a spring loaded tensionor on the passenger side of the engine and there should be a sticker with a diagram of the proper routing on the fan shroud.

Got it. Found the tensioner and installed belt yesterday. All good. Thanks again.

Default Serpentine Belt

How do you know which belt corresponds to a Grand Cherokee Limited 97 5.2l assembled in Venezuela? They've got two types in the Jeep parts shop and they could not tell which one belongs to my car without to compare it with the old one.

I would say that if you don't have A/C, it'll be the shorter one of the two.
