How do i adjust the Kickdown cable on my jeep

i have a 1994 GC 5.2L v8 and i just had a Kick down cable put on my truck and i need to know how to adjust it.
properly i was told to pres the button on it but im not sure and how to do it.
is there any specs for shifting of a 5.2l v8 from crysler? THANKS

I didn't think you could adjust them with the cable. If you want to check it, then have someone hold the throttle wide open. you should be able to move the lever on the trany about an 1/8" or so. It should not bottom out but be very close. to loose and you don't get enough pressure on the clutches. cause shifing to early, and of course poor kickdown. which all relates to over heating of the internal parts, cause by friction. friction is bad.
