Your going to want to have them face backwards to let air out. There is plenty of air coming into our engine bays but it is going almost no where from there. Air blowing over them as they are backwards facing will create a vacuum and draw the hot air out while moving. The 5.9 louvers work 100% if not better. I have a complete 5.9 hood on my 5.2 and I removed the drip trays. You can see the hot air rising out of them at a dead stop. Nice hand warmers in the winter time!!

Thanks! Work in progress, hood is slate color jeep is dark rosewood pearlcoat. Hoping to soon get the hood painted to match although from a distance its hard to tell they are different. Was going to cut my stock hood for the louvers but everywhere I went they wanted ~$100. Got the whole hood delivered to my front door step for $80!
