Default 2005 wk 3.7l ticking noise

Hey guys new to the forum with my first ?? Need some thoughts on what could be making the loud ticking noise from my 3.7l. It has 150000 miles on it and I use valvoline maxlife oil. Any thoughts.

Thanks

It could be one of several tings. The fuel injectors, the lifters, the valves, the water pump. Have you tried isolating where it's coming from? Under what conditions does this ticking occur?

It's starts about a minute after starting the vehicle and u can hear it at idle then as you increase the rpms it's ticks faster. Whether your in neutral or in drive. I can hear the tick go faster as I'm pushing the gas

Open the hood and try to figure out where it is coming from. There are a myriad of things that could be the cause. You're going to have to isolate where the noise is coming from.

Get a piece of rubber tubbing stick one end to your ear and place the other end on parts of the engine you will find the sound pretty quick. First guess would be a lifter tap. Chrysler 4's and 6's are known to have lifter tap. Not an issue.

I'm do for an oil change soon, should I try a different oil(brand, weight, etc) and or maybe some Lucas products or something similar to help with the ticking ??
