I have a '94 Grand Cherokee I6 with 4WD. The tranny quit on my wife last night, just totally slipped with no acceleration. Then it made a bit of a whiney noise when she tried to shift it into different gears. I pulled the pan from the tranny to check the filter and I saved all the tranny fluid that came out because it looked okay and don't want to refill with new oil after all of the problems I've heard about. When I took the filter to Autozone they said it was the filter for a V8 Jeep. This is the filter that came out.



Which model tranny is this filter from?
I had assumed that this Jeep had the 42RE.
Anyone know?

thats a 6 cyl filter.Same one thats in my 97 I6 with the 42re

but you can swap that out for an aw4 if you want...
