Cool High Speed Vibration

Hello, New a to forum. Just purchased 2004 Grand Cherokee 4x4 six cylinder and wondering if I made a grave mistake. Only has 125,000 miles there for it's gonna have issues, but this thing is becoming a money pit. After reading a little bit on forum......Do they all need this much money thrown at them constantly? Current problem at the moment is. When driving from 40mph - 55mph I get a pretty strong vibration. Then when I get to 65mph - 70mph, the thing vibrates massively like it's going to explode.. Don't want to even try to get up to 75mph.
Have brand new tires mounted and balanced, checked front and rear drive shafts no play. Put 4 new shocks and diminished vibration a little. Note: when driving at problem speeds in neutral going down hill, hardly any vibration. When going uphill or or having foot on the gas, seems the worst at problem speeds. Also checked under front end and all seems tight. I am only part time mechanically minded person, Not professional mechanic. Please Help so I don't keep thinking Cherokee is a piece of dog doodoo and shouldn't have bought one.
