Default High rpm shifting

Hey guys I'm new as far as memeber goes but long time reader. Ive got a 97 Grand Cherokee 4.0L 4x4 that is ready for a stick of dynamite lol. Its shifting at high rpms between 2nd and 3rd. When I say high rpm I mean 3500 from 2nd to 3rd and almost 5K going from 3rd to 4th.

Now everything I have read so far says TPS or IAC or even TV cable adjustment. Ive done all that and no luck.

Is there a shifter solenoid on the trans that i need to check? Or any other computer/sensor that could be faulty? Hell even a fuse I'm missing.

Ive owned a lot of jeeps but have never had this issue. PLEASE HELP!!!

The PCM controls the shift points / rpms using an input and output speed sensor on the transmission and you should see a generic OBD code if either of those are an issue. Is your CEL/MIL lamp staying on?

No lights are staying on. I tried the code search with the key turn on/off and it only flashed the "55" search end, ran an OBD even though the CL isnt on and "pending code" is P0300 multiple random misfire. Which I figured that one out the distributor was 180 out and off by a tooth on the gear.

Sounds like the mechanical symptom of slipping clutch pack being worn, how many miles are on it? There are adjustments in the FSM for the bands, shop can pressure test the valve body and clutches / bands if it comes to that.
