Default High beam dash panel light does not work. Bulbs fine

I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with 4.0 litre engine and 350,000 kms on it. The high beam dash light does not illuminate when high beams are on. I've checked the bulb and it's good. I've taken apart and cleaned all contacts in the multi-control switch. Of course other drivers aren't liking my high beams being on when they are coming at me down the highway, when I don't know or have forgotten that their on high. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I experience the same problem as well ... but this has occurred only after I installed Trucklite's LED's.

Have not changed lights. I think it may be a relay to the headlights?

Not sure if it's related, but being from canada I have a DRL (daytime running lights) module on my jeep.

a couple years ago the module fried and started smoking, so I disconnected it and it solved my problem, but one of the downside is no more high beam dash light (high beam works, just not the light).

you also have to make sure to turn on your headlights manually with the **** since the DRL turns the headlight on automatically when you start the jeep. by removing the module the headlights can only be turned on via the headlight switch.
