Help! Stall/No start
My girls 02 grand cherokee just had a buncha work done to it new headlights power steering lines coolant leak new spark plugs, i think some other stuff too. But lately she told me shes been stallin out at stop lights. and just a day or two later she stalled out while driving through the neighborhood. So i really started lookin into it. Im a Ford diesel guy so i like workin on my stuff but i dont know her little jeep. So i took it up to advanced to scan it and i got Camshaft position sensor code and two Evap system codes Big and Small. So i put a new camshaft sensor in and it fired up and ran for a day.. then she told me it stalled out again! Im thinkin its the dang fuel filter! It cranks and cranks but no start. Would Evap system leak cause this NO START condition?? Someone please help! thanks

Evap codes won't cause a no start. I would check the fuel pressure and do a wave form signal check on the fuel pump. What engine is in this rig?

Need to check for spark when the engine stalls. A can of starting fluid will make that easy. If the engine does not try to start after a shot of ether, you got a spark problem. If it does try to start, you got a fuel problem. You may have a crank sensor problem or a fuel pump problem, it all depends on what you find with the ether test. No serviceable fuel filter on an 02 Grand Cherokee by the way.

Im assuming theres spark. That was one thinig that was done to it in the shop was new spark plugs.. I hate assuming stuff but i dont have all the time in the world or money to just give it to a shop and let them throw things at it and then hit me with a bill. Im really trying to get as many opinions as i can so i can figure out what to rule out without diving in. Crankshaft sensor go bad when the Camshaft sensor does??? If so how hard is it to swap out crank sensors? thanks

left side at the top of the bellhousing, a long extension and a wobble socket to get to the bolt securing it, pull the front driveshaft to give you more room to work with. If you're used to working in a tight Powerstroke engine bay, the Jeep should be a cake walk.
