Default HELP with auto-dimming rearview mirror wiring?

Hi,

I posted this on another forum so if you've seen the same post before, Hi! It's me!

Anyway...

I bought an auto-dimming rear view mirror out of a 1994 Cherokee, it came with 3 wires: black, green, and yellow (with a green-ish stripe). Anyone know what each wire does? Which wire is for what? I've searched the internet over and over and I can't find any details that match this mirror with these wire colours. I guess that changes based on what type of vehicle the mirror was from originally. Does anyone know? Maybe someone has a service manual, or knows from experience what's what?

It's a Gentex 101 and it's got the switch at the base for HI/LO/OFF.

Thanks!

I saw that already but assumed it didn't apply. I understood it to mean the 3-wire mirror mentioned was still using the wide 7 pin plug but with just 3 pins used, where as the mirror I have only has room for 3 pins in total (the connector is tiny as seen int he pic) and all are wired up... if that makes sense. Perhaps I over analysed...

Looking over the diagram again, if I'm reading it right and viewing the connectors from the right angle/side, what I have should be:

Green = power
Black = ground
Yellow = reverse sense

Or should Green and Yellow be reversed?

The first link is the 3 wire ZJ mirror. He mentioned the 7 pin connector from the WJ in the same sentence. Like i just did. The ZJ 'should' all have 3 wire connector.
I would snag a 7 pin male connector and wire your mirror harness to the connector then just plug it in. That way if the wires are not correct just swap them at the connector instead of tearing up the harness in the vehicle.
In the thread I linked and on wjjeeps it mentions the wiring harness already in the headliner on the WJs.

If you remove the sun visors, clips, and overhead console you can carefully pull the headliner down enough and find a wire harness that will have the plug for the rear view mirror taped to it. Just remove the tape and plug the connector into the mirror.

I'm not running this mirror to an existing connector/harness found in the roof, I'm hard wiring it from a key-on hot location, ground, and tapping the reverse sense in a different model car. That's why I was so interested in the wire colours on the mirror plug that I have now. Once I know what each wire on that plug controls I can just jump to the tap-in locations and make the connections.

I think I messed up before though, and the 3-wires should be:

1-Yellow - Power
2-Black - Ground
3-Green (maybe it's brown-ish) - Reverse sense
