when i drive my 98 grand cherokee 2nd gear slips and it studders while driving , also backfires b4 it will shift .... ne ideas ? its 4x4 and has the 4.0 s.6cyl.

 

You should be getting DTC's (Check engine light on)! Take it to auto zoo, if you don't have a scan tool. that should give you some codes that you can go from as a start!

 

yeah the check engine light is on , i was thinking ti could be some sort of electrical malfunction , its a little wacky , the sun roof opens and closes by itself and the electrical stuff sometimes turns completely off though it hasnt done it since i was driving through the mountains at night , that was a bit scary lol
