Hi, I have that little in-dash diagnostic computer, and it was telling me that the rear lights had a problem. Ok, so I found that I had a brake light out. I changed it. All other lights are working, but that computer is not seeing it and it still flashing about the tail lights. What's up with that?

 

Did you check the license plate light bulbs, and the high-mount brake light bulbs?

How about the little side ones in the tail lights? I have one out and it flashes the warning.

 

All good. I made sure all the lights were good when I did the brake light. I did it outside Walmart, so if I needed any other lights i could run in and get them.

 

When mine did that it was the high-mount brake light. I removed and checked the bulbs then had someone press the pedal to verify they were working, then the message went out.

My Bad!!! I never realized there were three bulbs in the high brake light. Thanks. Yes, I feel like a moron.

 

No problem. It's an easy mistake to make.
