Default Hello and Aircon issue

Hello to everyone great forum with lots of info
I have a 97 Grand Cherokee Limited which has a issue with the aircon It will not turn on , I have no fans or indications on the climate control panel. I have been unable to find a wiring diagram in the manual I have for the system with the auto temp control. I have taken the temp control panel out and checked for power at the plug. I have power at lower pin 12 on the plug which goes away when I remove fuse 20 which is the A/C fuse. My question is should I have power at other pins or do the control panels have issues which may cause this. I looked inside the control panel and couldn't see any obvious damage to the board or components

Regards

Welcome to CF!

The climate control panel has a mind of it's own, as in it's own computer built into it! There is a diagnostic procedure on how to get trouble codes out of it, but you'd have to go to a dealer or get a service manual to find out. However, I will tell you that the fan speed and weither it runs or not is controlled by the unit itself.

You can download a Full Service Manual for around $10 from pacificcoastmanuals.com and it's the best source of info on your specific year jeep available anywhere. It's 93mbs of compressed pdf files on EVERYTHING in your jeep. It's a reprint of the same service manual used by the dealer techs. WARNING! If you try to print the whole thing, it'll require about a ream of paper and a couple of ink cartridges to do it! Just print out the sections or pages you need at the time.
