Default Heater Problem

Hello. I own a 2006 Grand Cherokee. I've had an issue with my heater for the past year or so. The heater only works when it's turned on all the way up high on the fan....other than that, it doesn't work.

I've had it fixed twice, and both times it's fixed temporarily, and then it happens again. Anybody know what this could be, or why? Thanks in advance .

What was done the last two times to fix it? I am not saying to do it a third time, but maybe it would help to see what steps and/or parts were touched/replaced to see what direction to go in.

Try replacing the heater blower resister wiring harness connector. The resister gots hot enough to melt the connections in the plug. Try this, with the blower on medium, wiggle the plug and see if it comes on, also try disconnecting it and see if it's melted. My Dodge Caravan had this same problem. The blower runs on high thru a relay, so it doesn't get power thru the resister. Also, the heater controls only work when the blower is energized.

I am curious if you found a solution to this problem. My 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee does the same thing. I did find that mine will come on in the lower fan speeds if I open and close my glove box. Strange, I know.

The "closing of the glovebox" may be jarring a loose wire or relay if they are located under the glovebox plate like they are in my '93. If you open and close the box a few times after it fixes it, will it break it again?

If I open and close the glove box it will come on, yes, sometimes it will stop working again, but opening and closing the glove box has (so far) always gotten it to work again.
